Hello and welcome to the Live commentary of match three of the ODI series between India and Australia. The series decider will take place at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The first ODI at Wankheded was dominated by the Indian Team whereas Australia got the better of the hosts at Vizag in the previous game. The final will answer a lot of questions about the two teams in terms of their squad and playing combination for the upcoming ODI World cup which is going to take place in India. The series has so far seen the pace bowlers having a treat in the middle as both the matches ended as low-scoring encounters. One can expect slightly different conditions in spin-friendly conditions in Chennai. Australian seamers seem to have got the rhythm while Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh have been instrumental with the bat for the Aussies. One can expect a change in the batting order if David Warner recovers from his injury sustained during the BGT Series. India on the other side will look to give another opportunity to the eleven that featured in the previous games. It will be a cracker of a contest at an expected full house at the Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai!

PITCH REPORT:

Sanjay Manjrekar and Ajit Agarkar: "Pitch is slightly off-center, so the dimensions change a little and it's going to be a long boundary on one side. As we have seen the Bowlers have had a little bit of help throughout the series. This track too has a covering of grass and also has rough in the center. It's quite hard and the roughness might be a factor in the first innings. It might be slightly two-paced initially in the game. Teams winning the toss will like to bowl first as it gets cooler it turns into a belter to bat."

Head to Head:

Two teams have clashed 145 times out of which 54 have been won by India while 81 results have gone to the Aussies.

TOSS:-

Australia wins the toss and elects to bat first!

Steve Smith, Australian Skipper: "We are gonna have a bat. Looks like a very dry surface and it is pretty hot out here as well. Will look to put some runs on this surface and defend later on. We have had good fun in the series which has been very competitive and it will be exciting in the decider today. We love playing in the crunch games and it's exciting for us to come out and put upna show. Ashton Agar and David Warner comes in to the side. Cameron Green sits out due to bad health.

Rohit Sharma, India Skipper: "We were looking to field first. If at all there will be help for the bowlers and we are playing three spinners today like last game, in these dry conditions hopefully we can maximize our spin options. It's an important game and finals are always exciting. It's always good to be in such situations. It's a challenge for us to come back after what happened in the last game and play some good cricket under pressure when it matters the most. Hopefully, we can put our best foot forward and win the series"

It was Australia's call to bat first after winning the toss. Head and Marsh were once again successful to get Australia off to a good start but the middle order once again failed to have a major impact. Aussies managed to put up 269 runs on the board with Marsh being the top scorer with 47 against his name. Hardik Pandya was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets to his credit while Jadeja bowled economically conceding just 34 from his 10 overs. In reply, India got a good start courtesy of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill who added 65 for the first wicket. Kohli and KL Rahul too got a good partnership between them but could not capitalize on it. India kept losing wickets and the Aussies managed to put breaks on the scoring rate which ultimately resulted in India falling short by 21 runs. Adam Zampa picked four scalps and was impressed with the way he operated. Australia fought well and came out victorious against India on Indian soil which deserves a round of applause. All in all, it was a hard-fought series between the top two sides in World Cricket at the moment.

Rohit Sharma, India Skipper: "I don't think it was too many runs on the board. We didn't bat well, to be honest. Partnerships are crucial while chasing and that is something we failed to do in this game. We know the wickets well and it's important you apply yourself while you're in the middle. After the start, it was important for one batter to carry on and take the game deep. It just didn't happen today. We can take a lot of positives from the nine ODIs since January. We need to understand where we need to improve and execute accordingly."

Steve Smith, Australian Skipper: "It's been an enjoyable tour overall. I would say We didn't play our best cricket, good enough to get over the line though. This wicket was entirely different today, we left a few out there with the bat and could have got more. But the spinners bowled beautifully, with really good performances from Zampa and Agar. It was a grind to get the India batters out from the moment when they were cruising along. Happy with the way things have gone."

Adam Zampa is the Player of the Match

Adam Zampa: "Yes, I have had some success here. It's a tough place to come and deliver, always a huge challenge when you're playing in India against India. I try to stay in the game and be competitive always. Ashton Agar changed the game today and helped me with my spell too. Kudos to the bowlers who bowled before me as they set the tone really well for me. "

Mitchelle Marsh is the player of series

Mitchelle Marsh: "There is this Natural aggression when it comes to batting. It's been a lot of fun while opening the innings. We have Warner who'll come back at some stage and open the innings. About me, I'm coming off an extended break and have worked on a lot of things. Came here really fresh for the series and glad that I could deliver.

252","2ndProjectedScore":"0","3rdProjectedScore":"0
"T20ProMatchID":"
"GroundUmpire1ID":42,"GroundUmpire2ID":87,"GroundUmpire3ID":221
"HomeTeamColor1":"","HomeTeamColor2":"","AwayTeamColor1":"","AwayTeamColor2":"
2
Australia","timezone1":"Asia/Kolkata
"GroundUmpire1":"Nitin Menon","GroundUmpire2":"Virender Kumar Sharma
"1Summary":"117/10 (26.0 Overs)","1FallScore":"117","1FallWickets":"10","1FallOvers":"26.0","1RunRate":"4.5","2Summary":"121/0 (11.0 Overs)","2FallScore":"121","2FallWickets":"0","2FallOvers":"11.0","2RunRate":"11","3Summary":"","3FallScore":"","3FallWickets":"","3FallOvers":"","3RunRate":"","4Summary":"","4FallScore":"","4FallWickets":"","4FallOvers":"","4RunRate":"","5Summary":"","5FallScore":"","5FallWickets":"","5FallOvers":"","5RunRate":"","6Summary":"","6FallScore":"","6FallWickets":"","6FallOvers":"","6RunRate":

Hello and welcome to the live commentary of the 2nd ODI between two of the biggest cricketing nations, India and Australia at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. India came out victorious in a low scoring encounter at Mumbai, where KL Rahul and Jadeja batted with utmost composure to take India home with an unbeaten century partnership. With Rohit Sharma coming back into the mix, India would be hoping to seal the series. Ishan Kishan is expected to make place for Rohit in this match and also KL Rahul coming back to form is a big plus for India keeping in mind that the world cup is just a few months away. As for Australia, Alex Carey who was out of the mix in the 1st ODI due to illness is expected to return for this encounter. About David Warner, we will have to wait and watch for if he has recovered from the concussion and if he will be available for selection. Let's head into this cracker of a contest and see what's waiting ahead for us.

HEAD TO HEAD :-

India and Australia have squared off 144 times and Australia has the upper hand with 80 wins and India winning 54 of those. Whereas, India have the upper hand in India winning 39 matches and Australia winning 30.

PITCH REPORT:

Deep Das Gupta: "The pitch was under covers just an hour back and there were hints of slight drizzle but look at it now, the covers are off, and it's bright and sunny. The pitch looks firm and it doesn't look like that the cracks will open up soon. There will be some moisture as the pitch has been under covers for the last couple days. Batting would get easier as the day progresses. The toss winning captain should prefer bowling first."

TOSS:-

Steve Smith and Australia win the toss and elect to field first!

Steve Smith, Australian Skipper: "We will bowl first. This is a different wicket and it has been under covers for a while. We learn a lot from playing at these pitches. We have a couple of changes, Nathan Ellis comes in for Maxwell who is a bit sore and Alex Carey comes in for Josh Inglis."

Rohit Sharma, India Skipper: "Doesn't really matter now (Laughs on asking what he would have done if he had won the toss). We have to bat well and let's see where we end up after the 1st innings. Every game is a pressure game when you play for India. Two changes for us too, Ishan misses out and I am back for him. Shardul is also out and Axar replaces him. We would have bowled first if we had won the toss, given that we have 3 spinners and playing 3 spinners is also something we might go into the world cup with."

Australian Team after suffering a defeat in the first ODI came back in some fashion getting the Indian team all out for just 117 after asking them to bat first. The opening Spell from Mitchell Starc proved to be lethal as he managed to get four out of the top five wickets with just 48 runs on board. Only Virat Kohli and Axar Patel got decent starts but failed to convert the same into big scores. Mitchell Starc's fifer was well-complimented by Ellis and Abbott from the other end. In Response, The Australian openers Mitch Marsh and Travis Head came out all guns blazing and finished the run chase in just 11 overs. The series is well poised after this dominating effort from the Australian Unit especially after suffering a heavy loss in the series opener at Wankhede. We will now move on to Chennai for the series decider.

Rohit Sharma, Indian Captain: "It was not a 117 wicket by any means. We did not apply ourselves and play well. We did manage some runs in the middle but again failed to make big partnerships as we kept losing wickets at regular intervals. It was one of those days when nothing goes your way. Taking nothing away from the Aussies, Starc did what he has been doing for the team. Mitchell Marsh is one of the top batters when it comes to power hitting and we saw that in the first ODI too. It is important for us to move on from this and bounce back."

Steve Smith, Australian Captain: "Was a quick one today. Only 37 overs in the entire game. Mitch Starc was brilliant with the new ball which put them under pressure straight away. There was no total in mind for restricting the Indians just that we need to stick to our plans. We were just trying to execute our plans. Just that kind of a day when the edges went to hand and we managed to hold onto them. The way Travis Head and Mitch Marsh played at the start was phenomenal. They just kept going at a good rate and we are able to bounce back after the loss in the last game".

Mitchell Starc is the Player of the Match.

Mitchell Starc: "I have learned the trade over the years and am now able to do it regularly. My rhythm has been good lately. My length is a little fuller than before and in comparison to other guys in the team. I have been given a definite role in the team and I stick to that. My conversations are a little different compared to someone like Cameron Green or Sean Abbott. The tracks in both games have assisted the seamers, especially with the breeze going around. My role is to attack stumps and get early dismissals and I am happy that I have been able to do that for the side"

550","2ndProjectedScore":"0","3rdProjectedScore":"0
"T20ProMatchID":"
"GroundUmpire1ID":159,"GroundUmpire2ID":42,"GroundUmpire3ID":87
"HomeTeamColor1":"","HomeTeamColor2":"","AwayTeamColor1":"","AwayTeamColor2":"
2
Australia","timezone1":"Asia/Kolkata
"GroundUmpire1":"KN Ananthapadmanabhan","GroundUmpire2":"Nitin Menon
"1Summary":"188/10 (35.4 Overs)","1FallScore":"188","1FallWickets":"10","1FallOvers":"35.4","1RunRate":"5.27","2Summary":"191/5 (39.5 Overs)","2FallScore":"191","2FallWickets":"5","2FallOvers":"39.5","2RunRate":"4.79","3Summary":"","3FallScore":"","3FallWickets":"","3FallOvers":"","3RunRate":"","4Summary":"","4FallScore":"","4FallWickets":"","4FallOvers":"","4RunRate":"","5Summary":"","5FallScore":"","5FallWickets":"","5FallOvers":"","5RunRate":"","6Summary":"","6FallScore":"","6FallWickets":"","6FallOvers":"","6RunRate":

Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the 1st of the three ODIs between India and Australia. The Men in the Blue head into the series on the back of the Test series victory and also qualifying for the WTC Final. It is a good opportunity for the Indian Unit to test its best combination before the upcoming ODI World Cup. Hardik Pandya will lead the side in absence of Rohit Sharma who will join in later in the series. India is currently the best team in the format while Australians are placed second in the ICC Men's ODI ranking. PITCH REPORT:

Murali Karthik and Ajit Agarkar: "I'm standing at the center pitch from where it is 64 meters to my right and 62 meters to my left. There is a nice even covering of grass, very firm, and will play well for the entire game. There should be some bounce and spinners may not be in the game. Wankhede is always a good chasing ground, especially with the boundary dimensions"

TOSS:-

Hardik Pandya wins the toss and elects to field first!

Hardik Pandya, India Skipper: "We'll field first. It looks like a good track and the dew will be a factor here. We feel we can do well while chasing. Playing for India every game and every format is important for every player. Especially this being a World cup year, the ODI format is even more important. We've gone with four pacers - Shardul Thakur, Mohammad Shami, myself, and Mohammad Siraj. Two spinners in the side are Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav."

Steve Smith, Australian Skipper: "No worries, Good toss to lose actually. Happy batting first because I was unsure what to do. We got to try and test our best to adjust to Indian conditions, and get our combinations right before the important WC2023.

Australia put up a below-average score of 188 after being sent into bat. Indian bowlers kept picking wickets from one end while Mitchell Marsh seemed like batting on a different track altogether. Marsh smashed 81 of 65 balls before falling to Ravindra Jadeja. It was Mohammad Shami who ran through the middle order picking up 3 wickets in no time. Australia lost their last 8 wickets for just 59 runs. India in response lost four wickets for just 39 on board after which Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul put up a 44-run stand off just 55 balls to get India back in the game. But it was the unbeaten partnership of 108 of 123 balls between KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja that took India Home with a little 10 overs to spare. Rahul was the top scorer with 75* while the left-handed Jadeja finished unbeaten on 45. India will look to win the next game at Vishakhapatnam and seal the three-game series.

Steve Smith, Australian Captain: "We weren't expecting this to happen at the Wankhede, usually pretty good wicket to score runs. India did bowl well. But we missed out too. If we had got something over 250, it would have been interesting looking at the way the ball was swinging and seaming throughout the innings. KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja played well to take India out of trouble and win it from there".

Hardik Pandya, Indian Captain: "We were under pressure but we kept our composure and found ways to come out of those difficult situations. Once we got the momentum, we were quite on top of the game. Jaddu was outstanding and did what is exactly expected of him considering the capabilities he possesses. KL was brilliant and it's good to see him play in the manner he is most comfortable in. "

Ravindra Jadeja is the Player of the Match

"I’m playing ODI after 8 months so was just looking to adjust at the earliest. Luckily did well with the ball and with the ball got three wickets too. My main goal was to build a partnership alongside KL and that happened today so, very pleased with the overall outcome."

239","2ndProjectedScore":"0","3rdProjectedScore":"0
);
