Hello and welcome to the live commentary of the second and final Test between West Indies and India at Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad. India stamped the authority by winning the previous fixture by an innings and 141 runs. Y Jaiswal served a classy 171-run feast on his debut in the previous match and Ashwin was the star with the ball with 12 scalps. West Indies has named the Off-spinner K Sinclar for this Test and will he get his Test cap here while India may go with their same strong XI. Can India seal the series or will West Indies fight back today to nullify the series?

This is the 100th TEST between these two teams! Also, a special match for the Indian run-machine Virat Kohli as he is all set to play his 500th International game!

TOSS:-

West Indies opts to field first!

Kraigg Brathwaite, West Indies Captain: "We will bowl first. Shannon Gabriel is back on the team. McKenzie makes his debut today. There's some moisture on the pitch. We got to be mentally ready for the challenge as the first game is gone. We got to believe in ourselves. We came a long way, in the matches between India and West Indies. Recently we haven't won, looking to change it."

Rohit Sharma, India Skipper: "We wanted to bat first. Looks nice and sunny as well. It's going to get slower. Unfortunately, Shardul has pulled up a niggle and he's not fit. Mukesh Kumar has worked well in domestic and is going to make his debut. There are a lot of memories, the rivalry between the two teams has always been exciting to watch. We work hard and hopefully, we get the result we are expected of."

Rain played spoilsport on the 5th day and the match ends in a draw! The first match of the two-match series was won by India and hence the Indian team is the winner of the Test series.

West Indies won the toss and opted to field first. The opening partnership of 139 runs between Rohit (57 off 74) & Jaiswal (80 off 43) set the platform for a big total after which Virat Kohli pulled off his 76th International century with Jadeja who scored 61 runs. Ashwin in the end put up 56 runs to make the total 438. Apart from the West Indies Skipper who scored 75 runs, there was not much contribution from the other batters which led the team to score 255. Siraj accounted for 5 wickets in that innings. With a lead of 181 runs, the Indian batters fired quickly to score 181 runs in just 24 overs which then took the Indian lead to 364 runs. With this target, the West Indian batters lost two wickets on the final session of the fourth day. With 289 runs to win on the final day, the rain played the spoilsport and hence we end the match in a draw.

Mohammed Siraj is the Player of the Match

Mohammed Siraj: "This is my first Player of the Match award in Tests, so I am very happy. There wasn't much help for the Pacers, so performing here feels good. I kept my plans simple and executed. When you pick wickets in conditions like this, you get great confidence. The captain asked me to believe in myself and enjoy."

Kraigg Brathwaite, West Indies captain: "We showed some fight in this game with the bat. We can be more disciplined with the ball. It was a good comeback from the batters. We lost five wickets yesterday, that wasn't good. We had 98 overs on a pitch that was relatively good and we were positive. Unfortunately with the weather, we didn't get a chance. Alick looked good. Kirk looked good in his first match. These two guys showed promise. I have a lot of belief in these two. Preparation is important. We need to bat for long periods against good teams."

Rohit Sharma, India captain: "Every win is different. Playing here has its own challenge. We gave it a good shot, unfortunately, we couldn't get any play today. We were quite confident. We always wanted that kind of score where we wanted to challenge the opposition. There wasn't much on the surface. Siraj, I have been watching closely. He's taken such a giant step. He has led this attack. I don't want anyone to lead the attack. You want the entire pace attack to take responsibility. You need guys like Ishan. We wanted quick runs, we promoted him, he wasn't afraid. In Test matches, you need guys who stabilize the innings like Virat did, he played superbly. You need a mixture of everything. We have depth, and we have got variety. We are in the right place."

0","2ndProjectedScore":"0","3rdProjectedScore":"0
"T20ProMatchID":"
"GroundUmpire1ID":34,"GroundUmpire2ID":32,"GroundUmpire3ID":30
"HomeTeamColor1":"","HomeTeamColor2":"","AwayTeamColor1":"","AwayTeamColor2":"
1
India","timezone1":"Asia/Kolkata
"GroundUmpire1":"Michael Gough","GroundUmpire2":"Richard Kettleborough
"1Summary":"150/10 (64.3 Overs)","1FallScore":"150","1FallWickets":"10","1FallOvers":"64.3","1RunRate":"2.33","2Summary":"421/5 dec (152.2 Overs)","2FallScore":"421","2FallWickets":"5 dec","2FallOvers":"152.2","2RunRate":"2.76","3Summary":"130/10 (50.3 Overs)","3FallScore":"130","3FallWickets":"10","3FallOvers":"50.3","3RunRate":"2.57","4Summary":"","4FallScore":"","4FallWickets":"","4FallOvers":"","4RunRate":"","5Summary":"","5FallScore":"","5FallWickets":"","5FallOvers":"","5RunRate":"","6Summary":"","6FallScore":"","6FallWickets":"","6FallOvers":"","6RunRate":

Hello and a warm welcome to the audience of Test cricket as the Indian team is all set to face the WIndies after a small break since the World Test Championship last month. India are here at Dominica after 2011 and Virat Kohli was the only player who played last here in the current squad. West Indies previously played their Test against South Africa in March. We might get to see some new faces here for this Test as Y Jaiswal and I Kishan have been handed over the cap! Can they perform well on their debut?

TOSS:-

West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first!

Kraigg Brathwaite, West Indies Skipper: "We will bat first. The surface is dry, we'll have to work hard in the first hour. We had a practice game amongst ourselves and was looking good. We have been in good positions during the last cycle, but it's all about being consistent. Want to see the guys be positive. Athanaze makes his debut. Cornwall and Warrican are the two spinners with Alzarri and Roach being the pacers."

Rohit Sharma, Indian Skipper: "We played a practice game in Barbados and we are here in Dominica for the last 4 days. Rain played a spoilsport but we are well prepared. The championship cycle final is two years away, but we've been consistent over the previous cycles. New guys in the squad, we just want to keep better as a team. I want the two debutants to enjoy, they've worked hard to come here, I want to make them feel comfortable and have some good memories of their first Test."

A wonderful display of Test cricket from the Indian team as they start the next WTC cycle with a promising victory by 141 runs and innings! West Indies had the advantage with the toss and they chose to bat first at this wicket. Ravi Ashwin opened the account early in the innings and ended up picking 5 wickets. Apart from the local boy Alick Athanaze's 47, the WI batting collapsed for 150 runs. The Indian openers Jaiswal and Rohit partnered for 229 runs with each of them scoring centuries. Jaiswal later went on to convert his ton into 150 and got out for 171 runs. V Kohli at number four did his part by making 76 runs.

With a lead of 271 runs, India declared the innings. R Ashwin once again proved why he is the No.1 Test bowler by taking a 7-wicket haul making his best overseas record with 11 wickets. The WI team were all out for 130 runs and India sealed the match by 141 runs and innings!

Yashasvi Jaiswal is the Player of the Match

Yashasvi Jaiswal: " We prepared pretty well. Spoke a lot to Rahul Dravid sir and learned from him. Would like to thank all the selectors and Rohit sir for having faith in me. It's really nice, I have been working on this. Playing Test cricket for India is very special and emotional. This is just the start, I need to keep my focus and keep working on my cricket. Lots of people helped me through my journey and I want to thank each and every one of them."

Kraigg Brathwaite, West Indies Captian: "I want to thank the crowd for coming. The pitch was playing well on day one, we let ourselves down with the bat. It wasn't spinning a lot. It is my job to lead from the front but I couldn't get runs. We lost too many wickets in the first innings. You need to have the right balance between defending and trying to score. We didn't execute the shots we wanted to, and we need to learn to use the bat more. Athinaze had a very good start, the way he batted. He will do a lot for West Indies cricket."

Rohit Sharma, Indian Captain: "I would like to start by saying it was a great effort with the ball. Getting them out for 150 set the game for us. We knew batting would get tough, it wasn't easy to score runs. We knew we wanted to bat only once and bat long. Jaiswal has the talent, he has shown us in the past that he is ready. Both Ashwin and Jadeja were splendid, especially Ashwin for coming out and bowling this way was class. Always nice to start well, it is a fresh cycle. We weren't too worried about the pitch, we wanted to come here and get results. Important to start well, now about taking that momentum into the 2nd Test. There are a couple of new guys and people who haven't had much Test cricket, so just about getting them out on the field now."

0","2ndProjectedScore":"0","3rdProjectedScore":"0
);
