After the hosts won the toss and put themselves to bat, The Windies had a decent powerplay by putting in 38 runs with no loss of wickets and they went on to score 55 runs in the first wicket partnership. After the Indian spinners started taking wickets especially Kuldeep Yadav picking 3 wickets. The middle order from hosts namely Pooran and Powell played a good knock (20 & 40) respectively. The West Indies went on to score 159 Runs in 20 overs with the loss of 5 wickets. West Indies had a positive start by taking Jaiswal out in the first over but Surya started retaliating against the West Indian bowlers from the first ball. Surya and Tilak had an amazing partnership of 87 from just 51 deliveries where Surya scored 83 off just 44 balls which helped India to gain an advantage to win the match. Pooran didn't come out to bat and that allowed us to keep our fast bowlers back, also allowed Axar to bowl his quota of four overs. If Pooran wants to hit, let him hit and that was the plan we talked about, I enjoy such kind of competition. As a team, we have decided to bat with seven batters and we have to take responsibility.
