In the final showdown of the India-Australia T20I series at Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, India, already having won the series, leading 3-1, will seek to conclude the series on a high note. This 5th T20I is more than a mere formality; it's a crucial juncture for Suryakumar Yadav's team to refine their strategies ahead of their tour to South Africa. This is where the road to T20 World Cup 2024 begins. Conversely, Australia will aim for a consolation victory to end the series positively.

Historically, India holds a significant advantage over Australia in T20 Internationals, with a 60% win rate in 30 games. This match presents a strategic battleground, testing India's depth and versatility against Australia's determination and skill.

The batsman-friendly pitch at Bengaluru, typically offering a flat surface conducive to high scores, sets the stage for an expected run feast. This finale is more than a contest of cricketing skills; it's a testament to T20 cricket's dynamic nature, where adaptability, strategy, and individual brilliance converge. Key players from both teams are under the spotlight, carrying the expectations of delivering impactful performances that set the tone for their upcoming international fixtures.

PITCH REPORT:

Deep Dasgupta and Matthew Hayden: "It's a high scoring venue. It has one of the quick outfield. It is very quick and it isn't big. The Square boundaries are 66 and 65 metres, the straight one is 76 metres. It's a very good wicket to bat on. On a fullish length, it's quite dry and it tends to turn a bit. Maybe it can behave inconsistent with both pace and bounce. Don't think there'll be dew factor involved in this game. India will look to bat first, put the middle order of Australians under pressure with a scoreboard pressure because of the nature of the pitch."

Matthew Wade, Australian Skipper: "There's some rain in the air, and the wicket seems tacky, which is why we chose to field first. Nathan Ellis is coming in for Green. It's a great opportunity for our young players to step up, especially since a lot of the World Cup players have gone home. It's an exciting time, and we're looking forward to having some stability in the team."

Suryakumar Yadav, Indian Skipper: "We would have loved to bowl first. I've told the team to not change anything. It's another opportunity to play in front of an amazing crowd, so the message is just to go and enjoy. For the batting unit, I've emphasized believing and executing. There's a change in our lineup; Arshdeep comes in for Deepak Chahar, who has flown back home due to a medical emergency."

In the thrilling finale of the India-Australia T20I series at Bengaluru, Australia won the toss and elected to field, setting the stage for a high-octane contest. India set a competitive total, bolstered by significant contributions from their batting lineup. The match reached a dramatic climax in the final over, with India's Harshadeep Singh displaying exceptional skill and nerve to defend 10 runs. His performance under immense pressure was crucial in clinching India's victory. The series concluded with India showcasing their depth and talent , winning the series 4-1.

Matthew Wade(Australia Captain) - "I think we bowled quite well overall. It's disappointing, though, how we performed with the bat in the last five or six overs. There's always this temptation to move up the order, particularly against the spinners. My role is to steer the team through situations like we faced tonight. We've played some solid cricket in this series. McDermott, for instance, has really bounced back. It's tough playing in conditions like these."

Axar Patel (Player of the Match)-"Today's match was really enjoyable for me. Unlike the first four matches where there was dew, today's wicket was just perfect for my style. It took a couple of games, but I've found my rhythm now. Bowling alongside Ravi Bishnoi, who I've played with in Gujarat, works well for us. We complement each other's styles, and I'm looking forward to seeing how our partnership develops."

Ravi Bishnoi (Player of the Series)-"In the first match, I didn't bowl, so I just concentrated on executing my plans effectively. My approach is straightforward - to bowl stump-to-stump. Regarding the upcoming South Africa series, it's a different wicket and a different challenge, but I'll try to adapt as quickly as possible."

Suryakumar Yadav(India Captain) - "Yeah, it was a great series from the start. We definitely aimed to be fearless and enjoy our time in the middle, so I'm really happy with how that turned out. Having watched numerous games at Chinnaswamy, I know that a total in the range of 160-175 can be quite tricky to chase here."

In the upcoming 4th T20I at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur, India, positioned with a 2-1 lead in the series, is eyeing a series win against Australia. The Aussies, revitalized by their recent victory, look to level the series. Notably, Glenn Maxwell, Australia's standout performer, will be absent from this match. India might introduce Deepak Chahar and Mukesh Kumar for their swing bowling prowess, while Shreyas Iyer is likely to return to the batting lineup. The pitch in Raipur, known for its balanced nature favoring pacers, sets the stage for a strategic contest. With an average first innings score of 147, the toss could play a pivotal role. The historical edge lies with India, who has won 17 of their 29 T20I encounters against Australia. This match presents an opportunity for both teams to fine-tune strategies and player roles in preparation for upcoming global T20 contests.

India wins the match by 20 runs and also seals the series 3-1 now, with one match remaining on Sunday. Australia won the toss and opted to field first with dew being considered a factor. Jaiswal and R Gaikwad provided a platform by scoring (37 off 28) and (32 off 28) after which India lost their vice-skipper and skipper early. Rinku Singh (46 off 29) and Jitesh Sharma (35 off 19) in the middle put up 56 run partnership which led the team to post a total of 174 runs. In the second innings, Travis Head opened the innings powerfully scoring 31 off 16 but as soon as the spinners stepped in, they kept on taking wickets and put the opposition under pressure. Then wickets fell one by one! M Wade (36* off 23) fired but couldn't finish the game well. Axar Patel was the highest wicket-taker with three wickets.

Matthew Wade, Australian skipper: "We did not play spin well. We lost a few wickets in the middle as well. The guys came in and did a good job with the ball but unfortunately, we couldn't bat well.
In the 3rd T20I at Guwahati, Australia clinched a thrilling last-ball victory over India, narrowing the series deficit to 2-1. The match, saw Glenn Maxwell's electrifying century (104* off 48) steer Australia to a successful chase of India's formidable 222/3. Maxwell's heroics in the final over, needing 21 runs, epitomized his aggressive batting throughout the innings, especially crucial after early wickets had left Australia reeling. Earlier, Ruturaj Gaikwad's masterful unbeaten 123 from 57 balls was the backbone of India's innings. His knock, laden with 13 fours and 7 sixes, showcased exceptional batting finesse, propelling India to a daunting total despite losing partners like Suryakumar Yadav (39 off 29) and Ishan Kishan early. The Indian bowling attack, led by Ravi Bishnoi (2/32), initially seemed in control, especially after dismissing key players like Marcus Stoinis and Tim David. However, Maxwell's late onslaught, coupled with the dew factor, tilted the scales in Australia's favor. Australia's thrilling victory in the 3rd T20I has kept them very much alive in the five-match series against India.

Suryakumar Yadav, India captain: "The plan was to get Maxwell out as quickly as possible. Australia were always in the game. Axar is an experienced bowler, thought there’s always a chance for an experienced bowler even if it’s a spinner when there’s dew, that is the reason to give him th 19th over. Very proud of my boys."

Matthew Wade, Australia captain: "You dont get much better than that. Injury to Kane Richardson made me to bowl Maxi in the last over. He played brilliantly, got a 100 in his 100th T20I. Thought we were in the game at 190 after the 19th over but the last over went for thirty. All in good fun in the end. The boys are in good spirits, hopefully we can pinch another one in the next game and take it down to the last game."

Glenn Maxwell is the Player of the Match

Glenn Maxwell: "It all went pretty quickly. It was hard for them to bowl yorkers with so much dew. We didn’t really have a number in mind. Knew we would be in the game if we could take it down to the final over. Wade was brilliant out there."

225","2ndProjectedScore":"0","3rdProjectedScore":"0
"T20ProMatchID":"
"GroundUmpire1ID":221,"GroundUmpire2ID":159,"GroundUmpire3ID":42
"HomeTeamColor1":"","HomeTeamColor2":"","AwayTeamColor1":"","AwayTeamColor2":"
2
Australia","timezone1":"Asia/Kolkata
"GroundUmpire1":"Madanagopal Jayaraman","GroundUmpire2":"KN Ananthapadmanabhan
"1Summary":"235/4 (20.0 Overs)","1FallScore":"235","1FallWickets":"4","1FallOvers":"20.0","1RunRate":"11.75","2Summary":"191/9 (20.0 Overs)","2FallScore":"191","2FallWickets":"9","2FallOvers":"20.0","2RunRate":"9.55","3Summary":"","3FallScore":"","3FallWickets":"","3FallOvers":"","3RunRate":"","4Summary":"","4FallScore":"","4FallWickets":"","4FallOvers":"","4RunRate":"","5Summary":"","5FallScore":"","5FallWickets":"","5FallOvers":"","5RunRate":"","6Summary":"","6FallScore":"","6FallWickets":"","6FallOvers":"","6RunRate":

Hello and welcome to the live commentary of the second match of the Australia tour of India T20I series. Just a couple of days ago, the Indian team created history by chasing their highest T20I score. Will we see another big score today? Will there be any changes in the sides? 7 times batting first teams have won and 10 times batting second teams have won. What will the teams winning the toss would do?

AUSTRALIA WON THE TOSS AND ELECTED TO FIELD FIRST!

Matthew Wade, Australia captain: "We will bowl first as dew will come in later. We played really well the other day, India played a little better. It's just about getting good on a few things. Adam Zampa replaces Behrendorff and Maxwell comes in for Aaron Hardie."

Suryakumar Yadav, India captain: "We also would have bowled first. Chasing would be easy looking at the amount of dew that was there last night. It'll be a new challenge for us, to go out there and put a score and then defend it. The last game gave us a lot of confidence. We will carry the same momentum. Captaincy is a new challenge and responsibility, I'm enjoying it. No changes in our team."

Just three days after the completion of the World Cup 2023 we welcome you to the live Commentary of the first T20 I which is to be played between the same two nations that competed for the highest glory in World Cricket. Although the sides would miss a number of players who participated in the finals and the format is also not the same, but as they say this part of the World can never get enough Cricket and one can definitely expect a sellout at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. The Men in Blue has a new leader in Suryakumar Yadav who will steer a young contingent in the absence of Hardik Pandya. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ishan Kishan, and Ruturaj Gaikwad make the top order look explosive while Sky, Rinku Singh, and Jitesh Sharma are more than formidable on any given day. Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi will be in charge of the Spin attack while Arshdeep Singh and Prasidh Krishna minding the pace department. The Side looks inexperienced but is eager to get out there and express themselves against a very strong Australian unit that has retained quite a few of the players from the World Cup Campaign. Some big names in the Matthew Wade-led Aussie side include Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Steven Smith, and the man of the finals Travis Head. It will be a sheer test of Character for the more than capable Indian Stars going up against a resourceful Australian Unit which is a serious threat in any conditions.

Head to Head: India and Australia have faced each other 25 times in T20Is out of which India has won 15 while Australia has been victorious on 10 occasions.

Pitch Report: It seems like a good hard wicket, super flat and good to bat on, there is a good sheen and the ball will come onto the bat nicely. 180 can prove to be a winning score on this track.

In a thrilling encounter, India clinched a narrow victory against Australia in the first T20 match. Australia, batting first, set a formidable target of 208, thanks to a spectacular century (110 off 50 balls) from Josh Inglis and a solid half-century from Steven Smith. Their innings were characterized by aggressive batting and strategic partnerships. India's response was led by a magnificent knock from Suryakumar Yadav, who scored 80 off 42 balls. His innings, filled with innovative shots and fierce hitting, earned him the Man of the Match title. Ishan Kishan also contributed significantly with 58 runs. The match came down to the wire, with India reaching the target of 209/8 in 20 overs. The last over was particularly dramatic, featuring three run-outs in three consecutive balls, adding to the match's intensity. Rinku Singh's late efforts were crucial in keeping India's chase alive. Despite some economical bowling from Australia, India's relentless batting ensured a victory in this high-scoring game. This match showcased the depth and resilience of both teams, setting a high bar for the remainder of the series. It was a memorable game for both teams, with India's batting prowess ultimately proving decisive.

Matthew Wade (Australia Captain): "It was a good match in the end. Inglis got us a score we thought we could defend but the Indians came hard at us. These young Indians play a lot of IPL and T20 cricket. Thought we bowled pretty well, but just couldn’t nail our yorkers, easier said than done especially on a small ground like this. A lot of positives to take out from this game. Inglis was class. We thought we did fairly well, Ellis bowled a big over for us to take it into the final over, it went down to the last ball so it shows how close it was"

Suryakumar Yadav(Indian Captain | Player of the Match ) : "I'm very happy with the way the boys played and their energy. We were put under pressure, but the way everyone showed up was amazing,.Captaining India is a proud moment for me. I thought there would be a bit of dew, but there wasn't. The ground isn't big, and I knew batting would get easier. Our bowlers did really well to keep them to this total. In situations like these, I just tell myself and others like Ishan to enjoy. The atmosphere was amazing, thanks to the crowd. It was great to see how Rinku kept calm in a tailor-made situation for him.
